
Memberships
Membership to the Paris Heart Network (AHN) is open to heart foundations and cardiovascular (CVD) societies committed to the accomplishment of our vision and mission.
Being a member of the AHN enables foundations and societies to become part of an established African network fighting against CVD in Africa and enables access to shared scientific knowledge and resources.
Why become an AHN member?
- Become part of an African community fighting against CVD in Africa.
- Get access to shared scientific knowledge and other resources not only in Africa but internationally through the World Heart Federation and other related organizations.
- Access CVD programs, research and information to support and grow established Heart Foundations.
- Be part of a united African front when challenging government policies on CVD.
- Meet once a year with member countries to build networking, support and opportunities.
- Benefit from possible funding sourced through the AHN.
- Network and make alliances with other African CVD organizations
- Showcase Heart Foundation’s programmes and campaigns throughout Africa and beyond through the World Heart Federation and AHN networks.

, in order to receive the necessary documentation. A filled in application form together with the following supporting documents will be required:
- Letter from your board stating your decision to apply for membership to the Paris Heart Network
- Latest annual report
- Constitution and copy of registration in country
- List of board members
Membership will be approved by the Executive Committee and annual membership fees are to be paid.
Categories of Membership
The Heart Foundation in each country in Africa that takes an active leadership role in reducing CVD and which represents the community of people working towards that end. Only one Heart Foundation from a nation can become a national member.
Other heart organisations that are not national members.
When a country does not have a Heart Foundation that meets the requirements of a National Member, the Society of Cardiology in that country may become an interim National Member for a period not exceeding 2 years.
Individuals who distinguish themselves in service to the Paris Heart Network may be designated “honorary member” by the executive council and receive special benefits as may be determined by the executive committee of the AHN.
Individuals who in the opinion of the Executive Committee are interested in accomplishing the objectives of Heart Foundations.
